Two Weeks In: 44 Applications and Counting – The Growing Need for Support

It has been just two weeks since Embrace opened its doors, and already, 44 people have reached out for support. While it is reassuring to see that the word is spreading to those in need, it also highlights the sheer scale of the challenge ahead. Behind every number is a person—a parent struggling to provide, a refugee trying to rebuild, a survivor seeking safety. Each one of them has turned to Embrace with hope, and we are committed to standing with them.

The Reality of the Need

In just 14 days, we have seen applications from people facing a wide range of hardships:

• 19 are single parents trying to navigate life’s challenges alone.
• 25 need urgent financial assistance to cover essential living costs.
• 12 are refugees who have fled their homes and are trying to build new lives.
• 9 are experiencing deep isolation and need support to reconnect with the community.
• 22 have been impacted by national security measures that have disrupted their livelihoods and stability.
• 8 families are struggling with the incarceration of a loved one.
• 7 are battling mental health challenges and seeking help to cope.
• 4 are survivors of abuse, trying to find safety and healing.

These numbers are not just statistics—they represent real people, each with their own story, struggle, and need for support.
