The Prophet ﷺ said:

You’ve waited all year for the chance to earn this kind of reward. But in the rush of daily life, it’s easy to miss a day – and the immense blessings that come with it.

That’s where AutoGive comes in.

Why These

10 Days Matter

Dhul Hijjah is one of the four sacred months in Islam. Allah says:

"The sacred months are Dhul-Qiʿdah, Dhul-Hijjah, Muḥarram and Rajab; sin and obedience are greater in them than in other months: “So do not wrong yourselves therein.”
[Qur'an 9:36]

The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are uniquely virtuous, with the Prophet ﷺ stating:

"There are no deeds as excellent as those done in these ten days...”
(Bukhari)

Allah even swears by these days in the Qur’an, highlighting their unmatched importance. These days are so distinguished because they combine prayer, fasting, charity, and Hajj — making them a powerful opportunity for reward. As Ibn Hajar says, “in no other periods do these great deeds combine.”

Just as sins committed in these times are more severe, good deeds are equally even more virtuous.

That’s why the Salaf (righteous predecessors) would strive even harder in their worship during the first ten days. Ibn Jubayr, for example, would exert himself almost to the point he could not bear it, advising others: "Do not turn off your lights during the nights of the first ten days (of Dhu’l-Hijjah).”

Allah bestows special times and seasons to worship Him. Within them are treasures - “special grants attained by those Allah favours with His Mercy,” as Ibn Rajab describes. We should seize the opportunities these seasons present to reap immense rewards.

“Fortunate is he who makes the most of these seasons; months, days and hours - and grows closer to his Lord by acts of obedience - in the hope of achieving one of those grants!”
(Ibn Rajab)

Many believe Ramadan is the best time to give, but scholars explain that the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are even greater in reward than all the other days of the year — including the last 10 days of Ramadan.

"These ten days are better than all the other days of the year, with no exceptions, not even the last ten days of Ramadan.”
(Ibn Kathir)

"The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are better than the last 10 days of Ramadan”.
(Ibn al-Qayyim)

(Bukhari)

It’s easy, private, and ensures you don’t miss out on the best rewards of the year.

These are the first ten days of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah. Dates vary according to moon sighting every year, but they typically occur 2 months after Ramadhan ends.

In 2025, the 1st of Dhul Hijjah is expected to start on the night of 27th May 2025, and the first day on 28th May 2025.

The Day of Arafah is the 9th of Dhul Hijjah and therefore expected to be on 5th June.

Eid, Yawm an-Nahr, is the final day of the 10 days, and is expected to fall on 6th June 2025, subject to moon sighting.

The Day of Arafah is the most sacred day of the year. There’s no better day in Allah’s Sight.

“There is no day on which Allah frees more slaves from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.”
(Ibn Khuzaymah)

Whilst it is the peak of the pilgrimage, even those not on Hajj can gain the reward. Fasting this day expiates sins from the previous and coming year, and giving charity increases your reward even further.

The Companion of the Prophet, Anas (ra) said “The day of ‘Arafah equals 10 000 days in virtue.” It makes perfect sense that we do not want to miss giving sadaqah on this day. With AutoGive you can choose to give more on Arafah.

Pilgrims gather on the plains of Arafah, in Makkah, spending the day seeking Allah’s forgiveness and freedom from the Fire.

"There is no better day in the Sight of Allah than the Day of ‘Arafah. Allah The Almighty descends [on that day] to the lowest heaven, and boasts about the people of the earth to the dwellers of heaven, saying: ‘Just look at My slaves! They have come to Me with dishevelled hair and covered in dust, standing in the forenoon. They have come from every distant pass. They seek My Mercy although they have not seen My punishment.’”
(Ibn Khuzaymah)

Most of us will not be blessed to be standing on the plains of Arafah, but we can all increase our good deeds and seek forgiveness, wherever we may be in the world.

"Being free from Hell is for all people, those who stood in 'Arafah and those who did not. On the day of Arafah, Allah frees even those who are not physically in Arafah. Therefore, the next day is Eid for all.”
(Ibn Rajab)

Friday is the best day of the week.

Ka'b (ra) narrated that the Prophet (saw) said, “Giving Sadaqah on Friday is better than giving it on any other day of the week”.

Ibn al-Qayyim described sadaqah on Fridays:

“Like giving charity in Ramadhan compared to other months.”
(Ibn Rajab)

He recalled seeing his teacher, Ibn Taymiyyah carrying bread and other goods he had found in his house to give secretly as charity, saying: If Allah has commanded us to give charity before sending salutations upon the Messenger of Allah (saw) then giving charity before praying to Him is the most important and more deserving of virtues.”

Imam ash-Shafi’i advised: "It is recommended to do a lot of charity and good on Friday days and nights.”

The Prophet ﷺ told us that deeds are presented to Allah on Mondays and Thursdays. It’s the day when the Gates of Paradise as open:

"Deeds are presented (to Allah) on Monday and Thursday. So, I like my deeds to be presented while I am fasting."

Many people fast on the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah and it is recommended to fast the day of Arafah — why not have your sadaqah raised on those days too?

With AutoGive, you can select higher giving amounts on Mondays and Thursdays.
